January 2026: At the moment, the hottest topics in publishing industries worldwide are all about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, especially the training and use of generative AI and its impact on the intellectual property rights of writers/authors, translators and artists.
In response to the demands of these unusual and uncertain times, here at eBook Dynasty we have studied this press release from the Authors Guild in the United States to form our own guidelines in the use of AI in writing, translation, cover design, and publishing.
In terms of Writing: In order to respect our authors and readers, all the literary works published, promoted and/or distributed by eBook Dynasty, including the texts of our digital and print books as well as those used in our website, whether they are originally written in the English or Chinese language, will include the following declaration:
- "This Work does not include any text generated with artificial intelligence technologies. Otherwise, text generated with artificial intelligence technologies only accounts for less than 5% of the Work."
In terms of Translation: In order to respect our authors, translators and readers, all the literary works published, promoted and/or distributed by eBook Dynasty, including the texts of our digital and print books that have been translated from English to Chinese as well as from Chinese to English, will include the following declaration:
- "This Work does not include any text translated with artificial intelligence technologies. Otherwise, where a human translator has used artificial intelligence technologies as a tool to assist in the translation, the translation substantially comprises human creation and the human translator has control over, and has reviewed and approved, each word in the translation."
In terms of cover design and illustrations: In order to respect our authors, readers and engaged artists, all the cover designs and illustrations used in the digital and print books published, promoted and/or distributed by eBook Dynasty will include the following declaration:
- "This Work does not include any image, artwork, design and/or other visual elements generated with artificial intelligence technologies. Otherwise, where a human artist has used artificial intelligence technologies as a tool to assist in the creation of artwork for the Work, the human artist has control over the final artwork and the artwork substantially comprises human creation."
