Dr Joan Brien (B.Sc., Dip.Ed., Ph.D) has over 30 years of experience in teaching students from the early primary years through to university level. She once owned a tutoring business where she was able to help many children who were having trouble understanding the many facets of their schoolwork. All of the strategies outlined in Can I Help My Child Learn? are the results of her one-on-one tutoring experiences, where she had to find ways to explain educational concepts in a manner that the children could understand.
