This book derives from different scenarios, which provide real-life contexts and give Chinese language learners a clear picture of how the words, phrases and sentences can be used in daily communications. It features various aspects of life, such as socializing, eating, shopping, transportation, entertainment and more, to help Chinese language learners fit into the local Chinese life. To ensure that learners become familiar with the Chinese tones and pronunciations, there are MP3 files attached so they can listen to the reply again and again.

Yilian Feng is a certified public school teacher in Taiwan. She has a Master's degree in English teaching and a certificate on teaching Chinese language to foreigners. She believes that Chinese teaching and learning experiences should be both fun and effective. More importantly, Chinese language learners can benefit the most when they know how to use the words or sentences in different scenarios.

Yilian is passionate about using English to connect people from different cultures. Born and raised in Taiwan, she has an ambition to introduce Taiwan Mandarin to the greater English-speaking community.
