Huayu Pinyin as a spelling scheme uses four special letters - q, v, w, x - to mark the tones. Compared to other spelling schemes, Huayu Pinyin has many advantages, including easy input (one can use a universal keyboard to enter all letters), short syllables, accurate sorting, fast queries, clear sounds between syllables (no need to use sound symbols), and a scientific way of spelling.
Huayu Pinyin as a spelling scheme does not exceed the range of 26 letters in the English alphabet. The use of the four special tone letters is in line with the current phonetic and pinyin habits. It is also consistent with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). fully abiding by the conventional spelling and pronunciation norms of other popular international languages. The scheme is easy to learn and memorize, and can be automatically and accurately sorted by computer. It reduces the maximum number of syllables per word from six to four, and the average number of monosyllabic sounds per word from 3.23 to 2.77.
Huayu Pinyin is currently the only Chinese language scheme in line with the rules of the IPA. It can be used for the Chinese pronunciation and tone labels, and fully conforms with international languages.
